Girly Birthday Party

My Miss Mercy was so thrilled to get invited to her friend and second cousin's birthday party this past weekend.  The guest of honor, Miss M, couldn't decide between a Princess Arial (The Little Mermaid) party and a Princess Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) party, so her mom blended the two beautifully.

Mom (aka Auntie Kim) had this great coloring station for arrivals. I don't think it got used much, however, because they have their own private park outside and it was a gorgeous day. So the more than a dozen girls (and a few boys) spent almost the whole time outside. (I know we aren't supposed to covet, but it is hard not to covet their yard, it's awesome!)

When we arrived Mercy was given a crown, which she was THRILLED to learn she got to take home. Woohoo! Then it was right outdoors to play. She didn't even bother with the yummy hot dog lunch provided.

The best game ever was the Jewel Hunt. Auntie Kim had gotten those decorative clear rocks you can get at any craft store. She also had some pink extra special ones. They were "hidden" in the grass in the yard. With the sunshine they glittered beautifully. Every little princess had her own pink jewelry bag to put her treasures in. Perfect game. They, of course, got to take their jewels home!

Of course there was cake, ice cream, balloons, and streamers, too.

My friend Kim had these great goodie bags for the kids to take home. Mercy unloaded hers in the car on the way home. There were all kinds of fun treats!

It lived up to all of Mercy's expectations. Getting to do something so wonderful without her big brother does wonders for making a little girl feel special. Thank you, Miss M. and Auntie Kim!

  1. Love it! I am so glad that your M had fun at our M's party! It was so fun hosting it...I am not sure who had more fun... the kids or ME! You can come over any time you want and "use" the yard. At least as long as we have it. My yard is your yard.
