Delayed Gratification

We have been trying to teach the value of money and a bit of delayed gratification at our house. Not always easy to do, but definitely worth the time and money invested in the process.

To say that Daniel loves Legos would be a gross understatement.

We have a variety of methods for acquiring money in our house. Birthdays or Christmas gifts. Selling toys we no longer play with. And the toughest and best way (in our opinion), chores. For the last three months Daniel has been saving up for a "really big" Lego set. Last night we did a final count of all of his resources and his savings was such that it merited a trip to Walmart to spend his cash and chore tickets.

So we spent Saturday morning putting together this set. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning. (It helped that the girls didn't wake up until we were almost done with the two hour assembly process.)
