Day Twelve: Wednesday

Paradise Pub and Legoland

Today I wasn't very diligent about taking notes. I did take more than 150 pictures. Here are a lot less than that.

Everyone was so excited last night thinking about today.
Less excited when seven o'clock came so quickly.
Apples for breakfast.
Eric was nervous about driving on a toll road for the first time. All went well.
We have watched Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Channel. Paradise Pub was one of the places featured. We decided to check it out since it was less than 15 miles away from Legoland Discovery Center. Yummy! We would definitely go back. The burgers were so juicy and very messy. The charred hot dogs were a hit with Gracie and Daniel!
And then there was Legoland Discovery Center. It was everything Daniel hoped it would be, though not exactly what I expected.
There were HUGE city type displays to look at. This was my favorite part.
Gracie's favorite was the jungle that had these huge animals made out of legos.
Sarah, the money photos are for you :) These monkeys were as big as my kids!
They had a place to stop and build some yourself.
Then there was a gentle ride through a castle that ended with...
...a huge dragon! (A little scary.)
I cracked up at this sign. Look closely. (Click to enlarge.)
Ready for our 4D mini movies. We got to watch TWO!
Then they really got into playing with the duplos!
Just before the store there was this great Darth Vadar and R2D2.
The store was a HUGE disappointment. Their selection was about 20 percent of what I had expected. In fact Daniel just got a little magnet set and we all know he had been saving up for MONTHS for his trip to Legoland. I guess we are going to have to make a trip to the big Lego store close to home.
And we walked into what I think is now my favorite hotel chain, Hampton Inn. Look at the attention to detail. There was an adorable little rubber ducky sitting on the bathtub waiting for my girls!

  2. Hi, Cami. Thanks for the invite to your blog. I've gone back and read over all your posts and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry y'all were disappointed in the Legoland gift shop, and that Daniel couldn't get some of the things he was hoping for. Enjoy the rest of your trip back home. Still praying for safety for all of you.
