We've been spending a lot of time at the church lately. I am part of a team of people working on launching some new curriculum this Summer in our Sunday School called TruStory. It's amazing curriculum that focuses on two things:
1.) Telling The Big God Story;
2.) Creating space for kids to respond to the Holy Spirit.

I signed up to be a small group leader and to help prepare the space (a huge blank room) for kids kinder through third grade.

Prep is first, of course. Almost everything has required Eric's expertise. Stage construction. Tech stuff. Response stations. We've tried to keep the kids involved and with us whenever possible. Gracie's three now and it really makes a difference. They've had fun. Picnics on the carpet in the youth building. "Show-offs" on a real stage. Still, the late nights have started to wear on everyone. We'll be thankful when Sunday comes and the set-up work is done.

So... until then, I'm busy trying to figure out how to hang foam core board letters on budget fabric backdrops!

  1. Sounds like a great program. We switched over to a rotation model a few years ago and I remember all the work. It will be worth it when you see the kids learning and enjoying and so excited to exploring their faith!
