Today I am grateful for... electricity and hot water that makes chores so easy to do.
And if you think that's something weird to be grateful for, then you didn't grow up in Haiti in the 80's or 90's when electricity was erratic and hot water meant the sun had warmed the water in the water tank on the roof. Here we complain about chores. I've done it. Complained about laundry when it simply means putting it in and turning it on. In Haiti there was even one season I had to wash by hand. And I don't think we ever had a dryer in Haiti. Everything was hung out on the line to dry in the sunshine. Significantly more work than laundry for me today.
